A Burke County High school student was arrested after threatening a school shooting.

On Wednesday, Feb. 20, a Freedom High School student told Administration that another student had made threats to “pull a fire alarm and get everyone to come outside and shoot them all.  He stated that he was going to be a school shooter.”

The principal contacted the School Resource Officer, who talked with the student that reported the threat.

Mitchell Logan Webb, 18, was brought to the administration office for questioning.  He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with making a false report concerning mass violence on educational property.

He received a $10,000 secured bond and was transported to Burke-Catawba District Confinement Facility.
