Car robber shot and killed in Uptown overnight but it is unclear who shot him

A car robber was shot and killed early Saturday in Uptown but it is unclear who shot him, police say.

A man was killed following an attempted armed car robbery in uptown early Saturday, police say.

At about 2 a.m. officials received a call from a man who had his car stolen at gunpoint. The caller stated that the suspect was still sitting in his vehicle and had not left. At one point during the call, the robbery suspect exited the vehicle and was shot by an unidentified person, according to CMPD.

When the medics arrived the man with the gunshot wound, who has been identified as Brandon Clark, 20, was found lying in a parking lot and was shortly thereafter pronounced dead.

A nearby aparment was hit by bullets and a woman who was getting into her car nearby also reported that her car was shot into. It is unclear if these were related to the carjacking suspect. No injuries were reported.
