Car stolen twice in one week, teen arrested

A teenage girl is arrested after an East Charlotte woman's vehicle was stolen from her driveway twice in less than one week.

"It almost makes you second-guess what you did the night before, where you parked your car," vehicle owner Alex Allen said.

Allen filed a police report after realizing her car was gone from her driveway on Saturday. The Subaru was discovered in South End off Griffith Street, abandoned, that same day.

Fast forward to Tuesday, and once again, Allen walked out of her home to find the car gone.

"They (her friends) just cannot believe it happened twice," Allen said. "They've never heard of it before."

CMPD arrested 18-year old Tammy Boyd during a traffic stop for the crime. Boyd has a lengthy rap sheet with arrests including robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Several other passengers were in the car when Boyd was arrested, but no additional charges have been filed at this time.
