CFD sends Task Force to western North Carolina to assist wildfire effort

Charlotte Fire Department 

The Charlotte Fire Department deployed a Task Force of seventeen members, three tankers and two brush trucks on Sunday to western North Carolina to assist with wildland firefighting efforts. 

The Task Force is designated “Task Force 1” and is prepared to remain deployed for several days.

Prior to the current deployment, CFD said they've provided additional portable radios, batteries and chargers.

CFD members are also on standby with the North Carolina Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team to assist if needed.
