Charlotte Fire rescues mother, two children from apartment fire

The Charlotte Fire Department rescued three people from an apartment complex in southwest Charlotte Saturday night.

Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes of receiving the 911 calls from the 4100 block of Rose Thorn Place.

It took over 36 firefighters, 20 minutes to control the fire. 

A mother and two children were rescued by firefighters and taken to area hospitals by Medic. No firefighters were injured. 

Investigators say the fire was caused by unattended cooking on the stove. 

The home is not liveable.
