Charlotte flight returns after bird strike

A Jamaica flight bound for Charlotte returned to the airport Monday evening after being hit by a bird, the FAA confirmed to Fox 46 News.

American Airlines flight 827 returned to Montego Bay after an odor was detected onboard. Back on the ground, inspectors determined the aircraft may have been hit by a bird.

None of the 141 passengers or crew were injured, American Airlines told Fox 46 News. Passengers will be accommodated by a different aircraft Tuesday morning.
