Charlotte murder suspect arrested following Monday shooting

Marion McGill has been arrested for the murder of Robert Miller, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced Tuesday.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has arrested Mario Demontra McGill for the shooting death of Robert Miller. Miller was one of two people shot Monday in separate shootings at the Arbor Lake Apartments in west Charlotte.

Police released McGill's photo Tuesday morning after obtaining an arrest warrant for the 26-year-old late Monday night. He has been charged with murder and firearm possession by a felon. McGill was located Tuesday in the 500 block of West 6th Street and arrested without further incident, police said. He is being interviewed by Homicide detectives before being taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.

This case remains under investigation. Police are also still investigating a second shooting at Arbor Lake Apartments that left a woman injured later Monday night. Authorities do not believe the incidents are related.
