Charlotte road rage incident caught on camera

We hear about road rage incidents all the time, but this one was caught on camera.

It was reported early Sunday morning on Providence Road.

Piotr Jaskiernia was driving with his 89-year-old mother-in-law, who was riding shotgun.

He said the incident happened where Providence Road and Sardis Road intersect. It started when he saw a driver had his high beams on.

"I turn on my high beam lights to show him that he's blinding other people and he didn't take it well," Jaskiernia said. "He jumped on my lane behind me, still with the high beam lights on, and I just wanted him to go away. So I slow my vehicle hoping that he will go behind me."

Video taken from a personal camera inside Jaskiernia's car shows what appears to be a vehicle ramming into the back of his car.

Shortly after, you can hear Jaskiernia roll down his window and then another male voice starts to talk.

Then there's lots of commotion.

"He hit me with his fist in my face," Jaskiernia said.

When Fox 46 Charlotte interviewed Jaskiernia, there were injuries to his face and lip that he stated came from that assault. His mother-in-law was not injured.

He's sharing this video of the incident with our station in the hopes that people will recognize the black Volvo involved or identify the driver by his voice.

Police said there is no suspect description at the time and that the incident is under investigation.
