Clash "4" Trash: A cleanup program is looking to expand its volunteers

Less trashy, more classy.

That's the goal Elle Erickson wants for several neighborhoods in the Charlotte area.

She's started a unique program to motivate people to pick up litter in their communities. It's called Clash "4" Trash. Volunteers are encouraged to show up in clothes that don't match and participate in a few hours of cleanup.

The litter pickup program is currently focusing on the Plaza-Midwood area.

"This is just the beginning. This is where I lived for a long time. I have plans to go into more neighborhoods and to pickup trash," Erickson said.

Volunteers don't need to bring cleanup items, they are provided on-site.
