Several area businesses and events have been canceled or postponed due to the arrival of Tropical Storm Hermine.
Gov. Pat McCrory (R-NC) is urging North Carolina residents and visitors to be prepared for heavy rains, possible flooding and gusty winds due to the storm.
“The safety of our residents and visitors remains our top priority going into this holiday weekend,” said Governor McCrory. “We urge everyone to be prepared, especially for potentially dangerous flooding.”
Hermine is set to pass through parts of the state Friday night and early Saturday. The latest forecast calls for heavy rainfall across central and eastern North Carolina.
Gov. McCrory has issued a State of Emergency for 33 eastern counties.
