CMPD arrested a man in the death of David Albert Doyle, Jr. Friday.
The investigation led police to Peter Jay Gould Jr., who was in custody of the Union County Sheriff's Office for charges unrelated to this case, according to CMPD.
The incident happened in the 16500 block of Plantation Woods Drive in the River Pointe development near Lake Wylie.
Police say they were responding to a welfare call around 3:45 p.m. Sunday, June 19, when they located David Albert Doyle Jr. in his residence. Medic would later pronounce Doyle dead at the scene.
Gould was charged with murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to commit serious injury, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree burglary, kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of auto.
Police say Gould will face charges for the unrelated case in Union County then be brought back to Mecklenburg County jail. This is an ongoing investigation.
