CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged Daliamontray Decarlo Strother with the murder of William Lynn Phillips.
After investigating detectives identified Strother as the suspect. Saturday, October 1, 2016, police arrested Strother without incident. He was taken to police headquarters where he was interviewed by Homicide Detectives and subsequently transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives determined that the location that this incident happened at the 2500 block of Pinckney Ave.
Police said Phillips,45, showed up at the hospital with injuries Tuesday and passed away one day later.
Members at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center called police at 8:12 p.m. Tuesday, September 27 in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival, hospital staff advised officers that Phillips was taken to their Emergency Room by a family member and was suffering from trauma.
This is an ongoing, active investigation.
