Charlotte, NC - CMPD has charged two of three suspects involved in a robbery at the GAP in the Arboretum Shopping Center in November.
A second suspect, James Broadhurst was arrested on Friday, December 11. He was taken by Medic to CMC during his interview with detectives for a pre-existing medical condition. Broadhurst was later charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and 2nd degree kidnapping.
Police charged Ariel Terry Wednesday, December 9, with several felony charges, including kidnapping and three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. She is being held on a secured bond of $250,500.
The victims told police that the suspects threatened them with guns and demanded property from the victims and the victims business.
Eight victims were involved, according to a police report.
One of the victims talked to FOX 46 about the incident, but asked that we not reveal her identity. She told us one of the suspects attempted to drag her by her arm to the back to the store. She managed to get away the first time and ran for a clothing rack to hide. But, the suspect came back for her.
"He came back and found me," she said. "Pulling me by my hair and dragging me and finally got me into a side room where they fold clothes and threw me on top of an employee."
Shortly after, the suspects left the scene of the robbery.
The first suspect is described as a man in his early 20’s, approximately 5’9” to 6’0”, average build, and was last seen wearing a last seen wearing a black hoodie, a camouflage mask and tan jeans. The second suspect is described as a man in his early 20’s, approximately 5’9” to 6’0”, average build, and was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie and blue jeans. The third suspect is described as a man in his early 20’s, approximately 5’9” to 6’0”, average build, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
