CMPD investigating southwest Charlotte fatal

CMPD is investigating a fatal crash that happened in southwest Charlotte Monday.

Officials say Gregory Wright was trying to cross the 10900 block of Steele Creek Road around 6:45 p.m. when he was hit by two vehicles.

Tierney Tillman was traveling northbound on Steele Creek Road and Brooke Rogers was traveling behind Tillman.

Tillman hit Wright and he was thrown to the ground and then Rogers ran over Wright, according to CMPD. 

Wright was pronounced deceased on scene. The other drivers were not injured.

After investigating police say Wright was crossing to or from a CATS bus stop in the area of the crash. He was wearing all dark clothing and it was dark. 

Tillman was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked and transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
