CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A man was pronounced dead at the hospital Tuesday night after he was stabbed multiple times during an argument in west Charlotte, police said.
The victim has been identified as Kwame Deese, 27. His family has been notified of his death.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, CMPD responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 3200 block of Timberbrook Drive where one person was reportedly stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers found a man outside in a common area of the apartment complex with apparent stab wounds. The man, identified as Deese, was taken to the Carolinas Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
CMPD's initial investigation revealed that a group of individuals were arguing when a physical fight broke out. During the fight, a man, identified as Johnny Bee Boyd, 25, stabbed the man, then fled the scene.
Boyd was taken into custody early Wednesday morning and charged with murder.
