CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Quick and decisive thinking by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer saved a man's life.
Officer Micah Edmunds is being recognized by his peers and FOX 46 for his dedicated work. He stopped a troubled young man from jumping off the Rozzelle's Ferry Bridge over I-85 on a busy April afternoon.
"Without even really thinking about it I signaled to the good Samaritans to keep talking to him, keep distracting him, and I just kind of came up behind him and grabbed him and pulled him over and held him down,” Edmunds said.
Edmunds served eight years in the military before joining CMPD. He was stationed at Fort Bragg. He says his military training helps him every day as a police officer.
