CMPD requests help identifying armed robbery suspect

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police are asking for help identifying a man who has been involved in at least two armed robberies of businesses. 

Around 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 8, police, were called to the Family Dollar at 4005 Sunset Rd. for a robbery.

The employee who called told police that the suspect came into the store and implied that he was armed. After taking the money from the cash register the suspect fled the store on foot. 

Police say on Wednesday, Dec. 13, the same suspect attempted to commit a robbery at the Rite Aid at 3250 Freedom Dr. He implied that he had a firearm in that robbery as well. He did not get any property from the business and no one was injured. 

The suspect is described as a black male, in his 20’s, and was last seen today wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
