CMPD search for suspect in gas station kidnapping, sexual assault

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who is wanted in connection to a reported kidnapping and sexual assault at a southeast Charlotte gas station. 

The incident occurred at 5:30 a.m. Friday, September 14 at a gas station located on Lawyers Road. 

The 22-year-old victim told officers she was at the gas station when she was approached by an unknown man. The suspect got into her vehicle and forced her to drive off. While in the car, the suspect took out a weapon and sexually assaulted her before fleeing from her car. 

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5'9" tall, last seen wearing blue basketball shorts with a lighter stripe on the side. The suspect had reportedly got out of a vehicle that was being driven by another unknown black woman, police said. 

The suspect vehicle appears to be a white Chevrolet HHR, with whited out rear windows and black rims.
