CMPD: Two teens arrested for multiple break-ins

Two 15-year-old juveniles have been charged with breaking and entering.

Friday, January 30, around 9:00 a.m. police answered a call on the 6300 block of Derryfiled Drive. According to CMPD the suspects tried to break in to a woman's home but left when they realized someone was there. Officers found two boys who matched the descriptions on Tom Hunter Road.

While the officers were on scene they were told by another victim that his backpack was stolen from his unlocked car on Tom Hunter Road and the officers found out the suspects had the backpack as well.

The two suspects confessed to more than thirty residential breaking and entering cases that happened in the North Tryon are the past several months. According to CMPD the two suspects were charged with felony breaking and entering and breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. They were taken to a juvenile detention facility.

Additional charges are pending.
