Firefighters in Saskatchewan, Canada saved the life of a family dog that ran onto thin ice and fell through.

Fire officials said the pup's owners were walking along the creek when they let him off the leash. The dog then ventured onto the thin ice and fell.

In a video released of the rescue on Facebook, a firefighter is seen sliding along the ice toward the dog on his stomach, with a rope tied to his waist, and held tight by his crew members on shore.

Luckily, fire officials said the pup is doing OK!
