RALEIGH, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Starting this fall, dogs and cats will be allowed inside breweries and taprooms in North Carolina.
Senate Bill 290, passed by state legislators and signed recently by Gov. Roy Cooper, will change how breweries and taprooms are categorized regarding food preparation.
According to the new law, if breweries are not engaged in the preparation of food on the premises, dogs and cats will be allowed inside with their owners.
SB 290 also includes provisions that allow distilleries in the states to sell alcohol drinks on site, including wine, beer, and mixed drinks. The new law goes into effect Sept. 1, 2019.
