CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Duke Energy says it is having problems accepting payments from some customers due to a processing issue.
The company tells FOX 46 Charlotte that a vendor used for processing payments has disabled their system. A company spokesperson says that means they are unable to process payments made at in-person authorized payment locations. They say Duke Energy is not the only company impacted.
A FOX 46 viewer told us he was unable to pay his power bill at a payment center in Lancaster on Tuesday morning.
Duke Energy isn’t saying when the problem will be fixed. In the meantime, they are asking customers to make in-person payments at any Western Union location. Customers are still able to pay over the phone and online.
