ESPN sports writer apologizes for insulting Panthers fan

An ESPN sports writer is apologizing after some believe he made fun of a Panther's fan on social media.

David Newton tweeted Sunday saying, "These Panthers' fans came to Seattle from Idaho. Didn't know they made Luke Kuechly jersey in DT size. Good timing for this couple on getting to see Kuechly. He is playing for the first time since suffering a concussion in the opener."

The Panthers fan responded Tuesday saying, "This is disrespectful to take our picture and you insult me on social media."

Newton tweeted out an apology to the Panthers fan Wednesday.
