A man was arrested in connection to a pair of robberies that took place over the weekend, according to authorities.

Eugene Hazen, 41, was taken into custody for two failed robbery attempts that occurred on Saturday, police said.

Hazen is alleged to have tried unsuccessfully to have stolen a 61-year-old woman's Audi Q5 in a CVS parking lot on South Boulevard and then punched the victim in the face, the police report states. That incident occurred around 2:30 p.m.

Two hours later, police say he tried to steal a 39-year-old woman's Honda Accord from a SECU parking lot near East Third Street. He is alleged to have attacked this victim too.

Deputies were able to locate Hazen shortly thereafter, hiding underneath a tractor trailor in a Target loading dock nearby Metropolitan Drive. He was taken into custody.

Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He is facing multiple robbery and assault charges.
