Fatal motorcycle crash in northwest Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a fatal motorcycle crash in northwest Charlotte Friday night evening.

Officers responded to the crash at Little rock Road and Glenmoor Drive around 6:30 p.m.

When officers arrived they found a motorcycle and the driver in the roadway. Medic arrived and pronounced the driver deceased.

Police believe the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Little Rock Road at an excessive speed and hit the media. The motorcycle continued southbound and ran off the right side of the roadway where it hit a small tree and a street sign at the intersection of Glenmoor Drive. Officers spoke with witnesses.

Police said it is unknown if impairment is a factor at this time. The victim was wearing a helmet. Speed does appear to be a factor, according to police.
