Father charged after leaving child trapped in hot car

A man turned himself into Salisbury Police after forgetting his child in his car while going into a store.

On Sunday, August, 28, Salisbury Police were called out to the Lowes Home Improvement on Faith Road.

When officers arrived the child had already been taken out of the car by store personnel. The child was in good condition and not hurt, according to police.

Police say the mother of the child came up shortly after and wanted to know where the child was. She had been at another store and the child had been left with the father,  Aaron Tyler Ferguson, 31. Ferguson was found inside Lowes and had forgotten the child in the vehicle.

Ferguson was arrested and charged with misdemeanor child abuse. He was released on a written promise by the Magistrate with a court date of October 4.
