A Florida woman is facing child abuse charges in Lincoln County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Katherine Taylor Kelly, 20, assaulted her 21-month-old son several times between February 25 and March 7 while in Lincoln County.

When Kelly returned to Florida, her son was taken to the hospital where doctors found that he had a fractured forearm and fractured collarbone. He also had bruises in different stages of healing on many parts of his body.

On March 9, Kelly was interviewed by Citrus County, FL detectives at which time she admitted to the assaults on her son.

The Citrus County detectives contacted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office on March 15 to inform them of the child abuse.

Kelly was arrested in Lincoln County on April 6 and charged with one felony count of child abuse and two misdemeanor counts of child abuse.

She was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and given a $22,000 secured bond which she posted shortly after her arrest. Her first court appearance is scheduled for April 9.
