Former Carolina Panther Frank Garcia arrested for misdemeanor assault

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Former Carolina Panthers offensive lineman and local WFNZ radio host Frank Garcia has been arrested for misdemeanor assault on a female.
Garcia was arrested Saturday afternoon around 4:30 before being booked into Mecklenburg County Jail around just after 8 pm. As of Sunday afternoon, Garcia is still listed as being in jail.
Garcia is also an assistant coach for Charlotte Catholic High School’s football team and a freelance contributor for Fox 46 Charlotte WJZY Sports.
Garcia played for the Panthers from 1995 through 2000. He also played with the Cardinals and the Rams where he made a Super Bowl appearance in 2002.
According to court records, Garcia is set to appear in court Monday morning.
