Local breweries have raised more than $250,000 for Charlotte charities in this year’s FOX 46 Brewers Charity Championship.

The annual event benefits several charities based in and located around Charlotte. It was hosted at The Unknown Brewing Company.

Mayor Vi Lyles presented the Championship winner with a custom belt that they can show off all year long.

This year’s participants included Lenny Boy Brewing, The Dreamchaser's Brewery, NoDa Brewing, Birdsong Brewing, Granite Falls Brewing, Legion Brewing, The Unknown Brewing Company, Triple C Brewing and Wooden Robot Brewery.

NoDa Brewing came in first place and took home the big belt. The Unknown Brewing Company took second place, while Triple C Brewing came in third.

This year’s “Charity Chicken”--because there are no losers when you're working for a good cause-- was Dreamchaser’s Brewery.

The punishment? Neil from Dreamchaser’s had to dress up in the “Charity Chicken” suit. But on the bright side, he was joined by FOX 46’s very own Chuck Roads.

Congratulations to all of the breweries that participated!
