GASTON COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A woman wanted in connection for a murder that occurred in Gaston County last month has been arrested by authorities in a small rural county in Georgia. Related story
Officials with the Jeff Davis County Sheriff's Office located and arrested Doris Alvarado-Peraza, 27, on Friday. She is being held at their detention center awaiting extradition back to Gaston County. Jeff Davis County is a small, rural county in south central Georgia.
Alvarado-Peraza is accused of killing Miguel Angel Valle Romero, 28, in Gaston County. They were acquaintances, according to police.
Gaston County Police were called to the dead end of Sawbill Ln., which is near Crowders Creek Rd., on December 22 around 12:20 pm for reports of a body found at the end of the street near a wooded area. When police arrived they located Romero's deceased body.
It is unknown how long it will be before Alvarado-Peraza will be brought back to Gaston County.
