Gastonia mall robbery leads to police chase

Gastonia Police arrested two suspects involved in an armed robbery inside the Eastridge Mall in Gastonia.

On Tuesday around 1 a.m. two suspects robbed the Bath & Body Works inside the mall at gunpoint, according to Gastonia Police.

Officers found a suspect vehicle after an attempted traffic stop and the suspect failed to stop.

A vehicle chase followed on I-85 into Charlotte. Officers were able to catch the suspect after he jumped out of the vehicle and ran.

Police said a second suspect was found hiding in a vehicle outside of the mall.

Reginald Rodriguez Tate and Jared Lamar Jefferies were both charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering, resist public officer and multiple individual charges.
