Green laser pointed at Delta flight near Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, police say

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating after someone pointed a green laser at an inbound plane near Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. 

The incident happened at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, March 17. A Charlotte-Douglas Air Operations employee notified authorities of the laser pointing at an inbound Delta Airlines flight. No one was injured during this incident, police said.

Those caught pointing a laser at a plane could face felony charges and spend five years in prison. The FBI is known to offer up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest in these types of cases.
