Greyhound Bus Driver Charged after Pedestrian Killed

A Greyhound bus driver has been charged with death by motor vehicle after the bus she was driving hit a pole, which in turn struck a pedestrian, killing him, according to CMPD.

Police say the Greyhound bus turned left out of the downtown bus terminal, which was the wrong direction for turning onto West Trade Street. The driver's side of the bus hit a utility pole, which hit James Robert Minter as it fell. 

The bus driver told police she didn't realize the bus she was driving to Atlanta hit a pole near the Charlotte bus terminal. She kept driving the bus on her route until police got in touch with her on I-85.

Talaysha Brown is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
