Homicide investigation underway in Salisbury

Salisbury Police are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was fatally shot early Saturday morning. 

Authorities were called to the Fishzilla Arcade at 1812 E. Innes St. around 1:20 am. When officers arrived on scene they found James Christopher Davis, 45, of Albemarle, NC, suffering from a gunshot wound. Mr. Davis was immediately taken to Novant Health Rowan where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Agents with the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation were called to the scene to assist Salisbury detectives. The shooter and witnesses were questioned, but no charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing, detectives say.
