How to protect yourself during peak pollen season

Redness or swelling in the face, a runny nose and congestion are just some symptoms many have during the peak of pollen season, which runs from March through May.

Doctor Sanjay Khiani with Family Allergy Asthma & Sinus Care said there are several ways people can protect themselves from tree pollen.

Some of his suggestions include wearing sunglasses, keeping windows closed to keep pollen out of the house, and to participate in outside activities in the afternoon hours when the pollen counts aren't as high.

For other preventative measure, you can check out the doctor's blog, here.

This week schools are out for Spring Break. Khiani said since many kids are outside playing, now is a good time to learn how to protect children from pollen.
