Iredell County woman shoots at husband during heated argument

A Cleveland woman has been arrested after police said she shot at her husband multiple times during a heated argument.

Patricia Sauve, 56, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

The shooting incident happened at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at a home located on Strawberry Hill Lane. A man called 911 stating his wife was shooting a gun at him.

Upon arrival, deputies were able to locate the man outside and get him to a safe location. Deputies learned the man's wife had a handgun and had fired it during a heated argument.

Deputies surrounded the home and attempted to contact the woman inside. After several attempts, deputies were finally able to make contact with the woman. She eventually surrendered after nearly two hours and was arrested.

Due to the charges being from a domestic violence situation, deputies said Sauve is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center without bond.
