An Iredell County inmate has been charged with attacking two detention officers after a fight broke out Sunday, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office announced Friday.
Tera Silavent, 25, of Pueblo, Colorado, was being transported by a detention center officer when she "became resistant," the sheriff's office said in a released statement. A struggle followed and a second officer stepped in to assist.
Silavent was contained without injury but the two officers suffered injuries during the struggle. One officer was treated at the jail for minor injuries while the other was treated for bite wound at a local medical facility.
Silavent has been charged with two counts of Assault on a Government Official. She was in jail following November 22 charges for Attempted Breaking and Entering. She now has a total bond of $6,500 for all her charges.
