Kangaroo Express robbed at gunpoint, police search for suspect

Gastonia police are searching for a man who they say robbed a local Kangaroo Express at gunpoint Tuesday morning. 

The incident happened at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday, October 18 at the Kangaroo Express located at 2001 N. Chester Street. 

Employees told police a man entered the store, brandished a firearm, and demanded money from the register. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9" tall, and about 25-35 years old. 

The robber was last seen wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and sunglasses. He was spotted fleeing the area in a silver SUV, displaying Maryland license plates 4CK-7030.
