CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control responded to an interesting call that involved what they were told was "a large Python," on Sunday.
An Animal Care and Control unit arrived on scene to find a five to six-foot boa constrictor in a Charlotte resident's backyard.
The snake was safely secured and transported to the Animal Care and Control headquarters where it is currently residing in the 'Exotics' room.
In a Facebook post the organization put up on Wednesday, you can see two Animal Care and Control officers holding the large snake.
The identity of the snake's owner is still not known, but officers say due to the snake's size, it is illegal to own in Mecklenburg County.
CMPD is working to find a home for the snake with a reptile rescue organization.
