Lincoln County family terrorized by masked man

The search is on for a masked man after he forced his way into a home and terrorized a family at gunpoint before robbing them of hundreds of dollars.

It happened Saturday night on Loop Road, a rural section of Lincoln County.

"We don't have much going on along this road. People go to work and then come home and that's about it," said one neighbor who asked not to be identified.

Saturday night the Lincoln County Sheriff says there was a lot going on along Loop Road for one family.

Marcus Montero told deputies a family dinner was interrupted around 7:00 p.m. when a masked man kicked in the front door, pointing a gun, demanding the men in the house place their wallets on the kitchen table.

The suspect ran off with the wallets, which combined had more than $1,400 in cash.

Deputies say the suspect made his way outside to a waiting truck they believe was driven by a second suspect.

Before leaving, one of the suspects shot at least two rounds into the tires of a truck in the driveway. The masked man was also caught on camera outside the home.

Neighbors tell FOX 46 Charlotte they are thinking twice about who may be at their front door.

"Oh yeah I will be keeping an eye out. I look out anyway but I will be extra vigilant," said one neighbor.
