Lincolnton High School on lockdown after shooting threat

Officials have confirmed that Lincolnton High School is on lockdown after students received a shooting threat on social media. 

On Tuesday, several students were sent a Snapchat saying that there would be a shooting at the school at 2:30 p.m.

The Principal notified the Student Resource Officer and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office of the threat. Extra law enforcement officers have been sent to the school.

Students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. as usual. No other information has been released at this time.
