LINCOLNTON, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A detective with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was assaulted after attempting to serve an arrest warrant to two people on Friday, according to authorities.
Lincoln County detective Jon Propst and a deputy were preparing to serve arrest warrants to Mikki Wylie, 35, and Larry Stanley, 43, of Lincolnton for drug related charges when he was attacked.
The assault occured nearby 7100 Doyle Beam Memorial Road in Vale.
While Wylie was being taken to the patrol car she attempted to resist, kicking the deputy and pulling away from the officer, the police report states.
Stanley was found hiding behind a bed post and was taken into custody without incident.
Both face several charges including drugs and weapons possession.
