LINCOLNTON, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Friday was a nice day in the Charlotte area. The sun was warm but the breeze was cool, but sadly, the sunshine is being traded in for a chilly, wintry mix of snow and rain this weekend.
Lots of people told FOX 46 me they wish it would stay like this. but unfortunately more snow is on the way.
Many were out enjoying the beautiful spring day in Lincolnton on Court Square on Friday before the snow comes.
"If we could have weather like this I'd love it all the time," Paul Mitchell who’s from Buffalo, NY.
"I really hope it don't snow. I really hope it don't, we've have enough," Zachary Cunningham told FOX 46.
Only a dusting of snow is predicted but some say they've had their fair share of bad weather.
"Strange very bipolar. Mother nature needs to be on her medication," said Lindsey Willard.
"It's been pretty crazy. It snows one day and then it's hot the next day. It's just really bipolar," Cunningham said.
"Yeah, it's just been really weird because I've been wanting to go out of town, but I don't know if it's either been raining or snowing or, I don't even know," said Caleb Colvard.
Since February, Lincolnton has only had one dry weekend.
"For weeks and weeks in a row it just rained and rained and rained. It was pretty crazy. It kind of ticked me off," said Cunningham.
"It's like why do we have all that on the weekends and not through the week but we gotta just roll with it and take whatever we can get," Williard said.
So how will people be spending their time?
"On the weekends we read. I go over the stock market and see what mistakes I made during the week and then we wait for Monday and the sun comes out and it's warm and we go play golf," said Mitchell.
"Video games," Willard said.
But some are still excited that more snow is on the way.
"I still miss the snow so I'm looking forward to it. I hope we get a couple of inches," Mitchell said.
"So much snow that we can probably sled and throw snowballs and make a snowman and do snow angels and all that kind of stuff. That's gonna be fun," Cheyenne Woodruff said.
There's plenty of people out on the town tonight even some kids dressed up and heading to the prom, so for now, it's all about enjoying the outdoors.
