Lockdown lifted at Charlotte elementary school following police search

A lockdown has been lifted at a local northwest Charlotte school following a police search in the area, police said. 

Allenbrook Elementary School briefly went into lockdown Friday morning after police swarmed the area in search of a reported stolen vehicle. 

CMPD tell FOX 46 Charlotte, there was vehicle pursuit, however the stolen vehicle was stopped in the 100 block of Park Fairfax Drive. Two suspects inside the vehicle fled the scene on foot and a K-9 United attempted to follow. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools confirmed the lockdown at Allenbrook Elementary has been lifted.

Police said so far, no one is in custody at this time.
