Firefighters put out a massive fire at Boy Scout camp this past weekend in McDowell County.

Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday night a fire was discovered in the Belk Dining Hall at Camp Grimes. The fire department arrived on scene and found the structure fully engulfed in flames, according to the Mecklenburg County Council Boy Scouts of America Facebook page.

The extent of the damage is substantial and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The Facebook page says the camp will remain open.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help rebuild the dining hall.
