WILKES COUNTY, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A man who was wanted by the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office for reportedly kidnapping and assaulting a woman is now in custody.
Rosalino Duarte-Cruz surrendered himself to deputies around 7:30 a.m. Friday, April 19 and is currently being held at the Wilkes County Jail. He is charged with second-degree kidnapping and assault on a female. The victim, Lauren Hall, is safe at home, deputies said.
The suspect, Duarte-Cruz, is accused of dragging Hall from her house against her will. The two were said to have an ongoing relationship.
"No further information regarding this case is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing," the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
