Man accused of stabbing girlfriend arrested in South Carolina

A Denver, North Carolina man accused of stabbing his girlfriend was taken into custody Thursday in South Carolina, police said. 

Wade Wallace Doering, 30, is charged with one felony count each of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and first-degree kidnapping. 

On Jan. 9, 2018 a 25-year-old woman was taken to the Sherrill's Ford Fire Department in Catawba County seeking help for stab wounds in her foot and shoulder. The woman was then transported by ambulance to CHS-Lincoln. 

The woman told deputies that her boyfriend, identified as Doering, was the one who stabbed her. Deputies went to their home on Optimist Club Road where the stabbing occurred, but the suspect had already fled the scene. 

Doering was located and arrested on Thursday, Jan. 11 in a Greenville hotel room. Police recovered the weapon used in the stabbing incident in Lincoln County. He is charged in South Carolina as a fugitive from justice.
