A couple was arrested at their home on multiple charges that include possession of drugs and child neglect, the Drug Enforcement Unit with the York County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities had warrants out for  Roger Harris, 35. Agents had been following Harris for some time, and when they saw him dispose of drugs in a Pet Smart parking lot the night of Wednesday, Feb. 20, they decided to arrest him. That’s when Harris took off in his car.

Harris crashed into a police car as he was trying to leave the parking lot and a high speed chase up Hwy 21 ensued, which ended at his home.

Harris exposed more drugs to agents when he arrived at his home, trying to flush fentanyl and Xanax down a toilet while his girlfriend’s children, ages two and 10, watched.

Witness  Marvin Brown admitted to purchasing drugs from the suspect, whichled police to obtain search warrants that resulted in 10 charges for Harris.

The suspect’s girlfriend Heather Pritchard, 32, was also arrested for five charges that are pending.

Pritchard’s children were taken by DSS agents before they were released to family.
