Man arrested after found kneeling by woman's bed

A  Mooresville man was arrested after breaking into a woman's home and found kneeling beside her bed.

Iredell County Sheriff's Office received a report from a woman Wednesday, July 29, around 1:00 a.m. that stated she was woken up by her dog and found the man knelt by her bed. Deputies say the woman told police she chased the man out the back door and he ran into the woods.

Deputies arrived to the home and found out the man had broken into the home and taken the woman's car keys and went through her car. He went back into the home and went into several other rooms before going into the woman's bedroom, according to deputies.

During the investigation detectives looked at other cases for similarities and found Jonathan Curlee had been charged recently for a similar crime. Police arrested Curlee Thursday, July 30, and charged him with first degree burglary and breaking and entering. He received a $35,000 bond and is in the Iredell County Detention Center.
