CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Police have arrested a man in connection to a robbery, carjacking, and sexual assault that happened in south Charlotte in November.
The initial incident happened about 1:19 a.m. in the 1800 block of Montford on November 16.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, a suspect got into a woman's car and stole property. Less than an hour later, police say a woman was using an ATM in the 1600 block of Woodlawn Road when she was approached by the same suspect. She told police the suspect forced his way into her car with a weapon, drive to another location and attempted to sexually assault her.
Police have identified the suspect as 30-year-old Travis Lamont Blakley. He was arrested Friday afternoon for an unrelated felony probation violation.
Blakley is charged with first degree attempted rape, first degree kidnapping, armed robbery, assault by strangulation and common law robbery.
He was taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
